Extension Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data the ZF AutoApply Chrome Extension ("the Extension") accesses, why, and how it's used. The Extension is a companion tool to your ZF AutoApply account (zfautoapply.com) and only operates on behalf of the account you're logged into.

What the Extension does

Once installed and connected to your ZF AutoApply account, the Extension periodically checks your account for job applications you've queued, and — for supported job sites (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, Taleo, BambooHR, Jobvite, and Ashby) — automatically opens a background tab, fills out the application form using your resume and profile information, submits it, and reports the result back to your ZF AutoApply account.

Data the Extension accesses

Your ZF AutoApply login session (auth token)	Identify your account and retrieve your queued applications
Resume content and profile fields (name, email, phone, LinkedIn, portfolio)	Fill out job application forms on your behalf
AI-generated cover letter text	Fill cover-letter fields where the employer's form requests one
Job posting page content (on supported ATS domains only)	Locate and correctly fill the application form fields
Application submission outcome	Report success/failure back to your ZF AutoApply tracker

What we do not do: the Extension does not collect browsing history, does not operate on any site outside the specific job-application domains listed in its permissions, does not sell or share your data with third parties, and does not run on LinkedIn or use Indeed's "Easy Apply" — those are explicitly excluded.

Why each permission is needed

`alarms`	Schedule periodic checks for newly queued applications without keeping a page open
`scripting`	Inject the form-filling logic into the job-application page you're applying to
`offscreen`	Process form-fill logic reliably when no visible tab is focused
`tabs`	Open a background tab for the specific job posting you're applying to and close it once submitted
Host access to `zfautoapply.com` / `zf-autoapply.onrender.com`	Communicate with your ZF AutoApply account to fetch queued jobs and report results
Host access to supported ATS domains (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, Taleo, BambooHR, Jobvite, Ashby)	Read and fill the application form on the specific job page being applied to

Where your data is stored

Your resume, profile, and application data are stored securely in your ZF AutoApply account database, not inside the Extension itself. The Extension only holds a short-lived local cache of your queued jobs and login session in the browser's local storage, scoped to the Extension.

Your controls

You can disconnect the Extension at any time from the popup or by removing it from Chrome/Edge.
You can pause Auto Apply from your ZF AutoApply dashboard, which stops the Extension from submitting any new applications.
You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings, which also revokes the Extension's access.
